Our outreach began more than ten years ago in Sibiu, Romania. We began as an outgrowth of a now defunct ministry called House of Hope, a children’s home which helped teenage orphan girls transition from the orphanage into society. Unfortunately, however, some of these girls fell on hard times (no place to stay, no job, etc…) soon after leaving the House of Hope. In response to this urgent need, we provided them with accommodation, assisted them in their job search, plugged them into a local church, guided them spiritually, and met their physical and emotional needs. The majority of the young women we helped from House of Hope are now living independently as successful young adults. A few we still continue to help along since their ability to live independently is limited.
In addition to helping young adult orphan girls get their feet on the ground, Finding Hope Ministries has recently begun work with other destitute peoples. We have been able to expand our work since fall 2014 because the addition of new volunteers to our team.
